Bollywood Movies Part CXCVI: The Mollywood Takeover Part XXXII

Krishna Kumar (Nivin Pauly) needs to make money quick for his sister’s wedding and enlists his friends in a risky venture. Sethu (Sreenivasan) meets a woman (K.P.A.C. Lalitha) on the bus, and they bond about their sons: hers is in jail and his is hospitalized. Arun (Vineeth Kumar) is helping Shyam (Rejith Menon) and Priya (Gauthami Nair) elope.

Chapters is named for its framing conceit, wherein each part is a different chapter focusing on different characters. It was pretty good, but the ending was very open ended. Favorite songs are Sandhya Sundhara Lipiyi and Etho Nira Sandhyayil. Neither song has subtitles.

Luke (Sekhar Menon) reunites with his childhood crush Ann (Ann Augustine), but she recommends he attends an ayurvedic ashram run by Rahul Vaidyar (Nivin Pauly) to lose weight. He does so and is so put down by it that he quits. When he tries to see Ann after, he discovers that she is the mastermind behind the ashram and is dating Rahul.

Da Thadiya is a good movie about loving yourself and being happy as you are. Also, Luke has great friends and family who encourage him. Favorite songs are Rajave Nee Venam and Mele Mohavanam. Neither song has subtitles.

Mathew (Nivin Pauly) and Jeena (Nazriya Nazim) are eloping, but Mathew also has the repay the loan he took from loan shark Vatti Raja (Bobby Simha). Things go awry.

Neram is a black comedy. The format is a bit hyper-link, which is good for the more thriller aspects of it. I did enjoy the humor, black as it was. Favorite songs are Vaathil Melle and Pistah. Both songs have Malayalam transliteration subtitles.
